Understanding our dual-axis scoring framework
Overview
SongbirdScan uses a dual-axis scoring system to assess your organization's AI readiness and potential. This framework evaluates two critical dimensions:
Value Potential
This score (0-50) evaluates how much value AI could deliver to your organization. Higher scores indicate greater potential impact.
Evaluates the cost and impact of your primary bottlenecks:
- Time or missed deadlines: +7 points
- Client experience or revenue impact: +5 points
- Review/approvals or rework stalls: +3 points
Assesses how often bottlenecked work occurs:
- Top task is delivery or writing: +6 points
- Any top task selected: +4 points
- Has primary bottleneck identified: +4 points
Measures risk and quality concerns:
- Cost includes quality or client experience: +5 points
- Comfortable with high visibility AI use: +5 points
- Comfortable with medium visibility AI use: +3 points
Evaluates alignment with strategic goals:
- 3+ solution interest areas: +4 points
- 1-2 solution interest areas: +2 points
- Success definition provided: +6 points
Based on number of pain points identified:
- 5+ pain points: 5 points
- 3-4 pain points: 4 points
- 1-2 pain points: 2 points
Workflow Assessment
This score (0-50) measures your organizational readiness for AI adoption. Higher scores indicate better readiness.
Evaluates current AI usage:
- Daily usage: +5 points
- Weekly usage: +4 points
- Monthly usage: +2 points
- 5+ tools used: +5 points
- 3-4 tools used: +3 points
- 1-2 tools used: +1 point
Calculated from team comfort and output confidence ratings (1-5 scale each):
((comfort_rating + confidence_rating) / 2) / 5 * 10
Assesses existing tool usage:
- Has used any AI tools: +4 points
- Uses automation or coding tools: +6 points
Starts at 10, subtracts for risk factors:
- Not comfortable anywhere: -4 points
- High data sensitivity: -2 points
- 4+ non-negotiables: -2 points
- No existing policies: -2 points
Evaluates comfort with client-facing AI use:
- High visibility comfort: +5 points
- Medium visibility comfort: +3 points
- Pro-AI or curious client posture: +5 points
- Other client posture: +2 points
Tier Assignment
Based on your Value Potential and Workflow Assessment scores, you'll be assigned to one of four tiers:
Your organization is ready to pilot AI tools immediately with strong potential for value delivery.
High value potential, but organizational readiness needs improvement. Proceed with caution and clear guardrails.
Good organizational readiness, but value potential is lower. Focus on building foundational capabilities first.
Both scores are lower. Focus on education and building awareness before implementing AI tools.
